It would have been too long. This is a great cast on for beginners because it's easy to do, but it's not the tightest or stretchiest cast on. If you're a new knitter, I hope you're getting the hang of it!

I however, know basics but following other endeavers such as computers and music... Basically, a lot of new knitters will accidentally bring their working yarn in front of the needle, as if to purl, and then knit into the next stitch.

The loop in the picture, it's just extra slack that I don't know how to get rid of. Before you start a new row, make sure you're starting with the right number of stitches. but, I've realized, it's no different. I'm not skilled yet.
