I already told you that it didn't JUST scan the boot sector which is why it took so long. I thought they were installing an invisible toolbar without our knowledge, but I guess that wasn't the case. I have issues with it on my cell phone. I will talk to them tomorrow & in the meantime I'm doing a 3rd scan with ALL the folders checked off..

I've noticed the icon has disappeared a few times over the last few months. As I previously told you, I am not personally familiar with ESET Smart Security, but I would expect that if it did complete a full scan, the "Scanned" value would not Hope this helps. Please try the request again. That said, ESET is reputed to be a very good product and it is a recommended anti-virus application here at Bleeping Computer. That raises thepossibility of a serious boot sector malware infection. For certain, it should not take seven hours to just scan one or more boot sectors.

I would prefer that you run the ESET Online scan I initially requested. Scan times would depend on the type of hard drives (SSD or mechanical) and how powerful your computer is, and what else is running as background processes while the ESET scan Here you can see these 2 SSs in 2 separate places which clearly shows the infected files & I think you are correct that only the boot (I don't even know I'm NOT new to computers.
